Traditional Thai Massage

Traditional Thai Massage is an ancient skill, thought to have started thousands of years ago. It is believed to be beneficial to both the mind and the body. It is closely connected with Buddhist philosophy, and practitioners are usually practising Buddhists. Although in Thailand it is usually carried out on a mat on the floor, here we use a massage bed. The practioners use their hands, elbows, arms and legs to manipulate the recipient, pressing, pulling, stretching and rocking the body. The massage usually follows a pattern, working across the entire body, although this can be altered to suit individual needs. If you are experiencing Traditional Thai Massage for the first time, we recommend letting the practitioner follow their usual routine, and relying on their knowledge to find if you have any special needs.

Traditional Thai Massage is especially recommended for the relief of muscular pain or stiffness, although many people find it improves their general well-being, even if they are not suffering any discomfort.
